amazing!!!

Stradomyre responds:

Gonna have to attribute the amazingness to your scoring as well! I’ll never stop thankin ya— So thank you again!! :D

Cute idea, and expert execution. You did a really good job of parodying these artists, but remaining respectful. Always glad to see more Luny and Milky!

sickaah responds:

Thank you so much mate! x')

really great work! It's always refreshing to see smoothly animated, well edited, non-parody work on NewGrounds. Don't listen to anything people say about knocking off style etc. All of that just leads to writers block. Emulation is a natural part of learning and creation, and when the more you do it, the more individualized each release becomes. I know you'll be working on a webcomic, but please consider working on another animation. I'd love to see more content like this floating around the web.

Shi-Gu responds:

Thanks a lot!
I think it's important to take in the criticism, but of course that doesn't mean I agree 100% with them, I'll take what I find valuable from their points only.
I'm very glad you liked the animation!
Indeed, I'm gonna work on a webcomic, but I'll also try to add animated parts into it, from fully animated videos with music, to animated gifs.
I don't know if I'll do another one with the same amount of work as this one, because getting to work with voice actors was really complicated and along other things I don't know if I'll manage to pull it off again, at least while I'm in college.
However, I might do something like it for other projects.
I appreciate your interest though, hope to be able to do some more animation soon! :D

This is cool. I love the tone. The background image is great, and I love how you animated the lyrics; It kept it visually interesting. It might feel even more rhythmic if you occasionally broke up longer words into their syllables so chunks of the words will pop up on screen as the singer says them instead of always displaying the entire word all at once. I'd also consider using a font that reflects the style of the music more. The super clean sans serif look makes me think more of pop music, but then again that may simply be a personal association. Keep up the good work!

Thanks a ton, the feedback is really appreciated!

awesome! This reminds me of some of the earlier Æon Flux episodes. Some of the movements were almost grotesque. I mean that in a good way.

TaraGraphika responds:

Thank you, grotesque is good. grotesque is good.

I don't know how I missed this! Great work!

saucybird responds:

Thanks Bryan :) I'm glad I got to use your music for this

still love your style! The delay in the voice was a little distracting. I'd try to separate the layers a bit spatially. Maybe use an expander to get the delays to sit further off to the side, or push them to the back using a little reverb and eq down the highs?

Gorgeous visual style.

You have a really cool style. I love the shifting textures.

I was a little bothered by the recording quality of the voices. I think the actors did a fine job, but there's a bit of a room echo that I found distracting. I would suggest building a little reflection shield. You can get really fancy if you want, but even a cardboard box with some foam or fabric in it would help quite a bit. Put the microphone in the box when you're recording and it will help kill some of the slapback reverberation and general room sound.

That said, this was really pretty! I'm adding you to my favorites!

shaunoink responds:

You know, if you look at my old animations you'll see i have always had an issue with poor audio quality. I only have my apple laptop and garage band to record so i always get an echo.

That being said, in all the comments I have received over the years concerning my poor audio, NEVER once did someone actually give me constructive feedback to fix the issue without having to pay hundreds in new equipment. I will try your suggestion. Thanks a lot.

I didn't get it at first until I read the Author Comments. Beautiful idea, but hard to understand the context in such a short animation. I think the idea is great, though. I really want to see more of these. The characters are gorgeously rendered.

ThatGoatface responds:

Thanks man :) and yeah, perfectly understand how it's hard to see the context, originally I thought of doing a much longer animation, joining up their escapades together, I just wasn't too confident how it would turn out. Although now I see people like the idea I might definitely make some more in the future :)

I make music for media (primarily animation). Work on Disney, Nickelodeon, Hulu, and tons of indies. Stylistically versatile, overly verbose, and constantly looking for work.
