Twitter has become increasingly unusable. I'm old and was an early adopter of the platform. (In the early days you couldn't actually upload pictures, so you'd have to upload to another service and then post a shortened link so you didn't use up all 140 characters). I was less interested in "hot takes" than I was people sharing weird things they found on the internet.

Fast forward to today, and the platform is nearly unusable for me. The almighty "algorithm" tends to push popular accounts while people who I specifically follow get hidden in my timeline. I dislike the constant coercion to engage with specific topics, and the fact that external links are penalized by the system as well as the threat of GROK scraping creative work has lead me to migrate to BlueSky. I've been on the platform for awhile now, but things are really starting to get more interesting as more people adopt it.
