I haven't been very active here for awhile because I've been working on something I've had to keep secret. Since the beginning of this year, I've been a composer's assistant on a new Disney Kid's show called Chicken Squad. I'm mostly doing orchestration/arrangement, but occasionally get to write a few cues as well. It's been a ton of work, but the education has been invaluable. The show is definitely for young children so I don't expect many people over the age of 6 to watch it, and I am a pretty low person in the musical pecking order, but after working so long and hard to try to get any foothold in the music industry, it feels good to be able to take a brief moment to celebrate a win.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to provide Ami Yamato with some music for her latest youtube video. Previously on New Grounds I had released some Mandalorian inspired tracks. Those were study sessions to eventually do the sound alike music for Ami's parody video. If you're not already familiar with her work, she does vlogs and self-insert parody videos with a CGI rendering of her persona. She's an incredibly talented animator and I feel lucky to have had the chance to work with her.

The pilot for Kevil the Japanese Devil by @Stradomyre is now out on NG and youtube. This project was incredibly fun to write music for and gave me the opportunity to draw from a variety of genres including jazz, ska, baroque, cinematic orchestral, synthwave, and more. The animation style is incredibly unique and I'm excited to see where this project goes. If you dig animation and can spare ~8 minutes, it's worth checking out. Last year I scored a pilot episode for a new animated sci-fi series called Starship Goldfish. Since then I've been bursting at the seams trying to keep quiet about it while it was being pitched. Shopping the show is an ongoing arduous process (we've been picked up by an awesome production company, but we'll need to do some reworking before they can help us shop it around to networks. Jason Weight (writer/director) put out a video about that on the channel in the link below). I'm happy to announce that the first episode has finally been shared on youtube. Hey all! "Flower Found!", an animation by Jorn Leeuwerink (aap on NG), recently won Best Animation at the Global Youth Film Festival in Bangladesh! This is the second accolade following Best Animated Student Short at the KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival. I was fortunate enough to be able to provide a score for this film last year and couldn't be happier with how it's being received. I'm hoping to work on a lot more music for animation in 2018. Cheers! 

The trailer for Flower Found!, a short animated film I scored earlier this year, has been posted. So far it's won Best Animated Student Short at the KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival (powered by Cartoon Network), and is making the rounds at other festivals internationally.

A game I scored has been released today! Burglars Inc is a new type of puzzle game which marks the inaugural release from Fuzzy Orbit Games. The plot centers around a group of elite burglars who fight against the corrupt government.
