I'm pretty happy that the trailer for Lost Face has been released.

Lost Face is a film based on a short story by Jack London. A tribe captures, tortures, and kills a band of fur thieves. While the character Subienkow watches his last remaining compatriot enduring torture and certain death, he hatches a desperate plan to save his life. This trailer features "The Horror of Self", a droney violin piece I wrote heavily influenced by the plainchant music of medieval composer Hildegard von Bingen and the tintinnabulation technique of Arvo Pärt. There are light undertones of Appalachian folk music peppered throughout the melodic motifs, evoking a morose sense of mystique, regret, and desire for redemption.

The original track, "The Horror of Self", can be found here: http://sleepfacingwest.com/sleepfacingwest/2015/7/23/gl016-the-horror-of-self

I've had the good fortune of finding producers of a game who want big band jazz music inspired by the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Archer, The Venture Bros, and virtually all my other favorite shows. I unfortunately can't share the full scores until the game comes out, but I'll make sure to post links to the OST when everything is ready to go. That said, I'm super happy with the work done so far!

A few months ago I'd started a blog to post free short loopable audio for game developers and animators. This way I could help out with creative projects, showcase samples of my abilities (in an effort to drum up more work), and give me an excuse to write regularly regardless of whether I had a specific project to work on.

I started off with a generic tumblr site as I wanted to dive right into writing and not have to worry about losing steam while designing a new site. That said, it never seemed very professional to point prospective clients towards a tumblr address. I've finally moved to my own fancy domain and am excited to share it with the creative community. I proudly present sleepfacingwest.com!
